How to Save FSC Details as a PDF or Print a Copy
If your FSC details appear on the official portal but there is no download button, your browser may let you print the displayed page or save it as a PDF. That creates a reference copy of what you viewed. It does not issue a new ration card or prove that another office will accept the copy.
Check the result before saving
Confirm that the household details belong to your record and that the page has finished loading. Save the result, not the search form or an error message. If you are using a shared computer, choose a safe place to keep the file and remove your personal copy when finished.
Ask what the receiving office needs
A web printout and an officially issued card are different documents. Before paying for several printed copies, ask the receiving office whether a portal printout is sufficient or whether it requires an issued document or another form of verification.
Step-by-step: what to do
- Open the official portal and find your record using an accepted identification field. Check the displayed details.
- Use the portal’s own print or export control if one is available. Read any document description before treating it as an official card.
- On a computer, open the browser menu and select Print. On Windows, Ctrl+P usually opens the print dialog; on a Mac, Command+P usually does so.
- To create a reference PDF, choose Save as PDF or an equivalent PDF destination if your device offers one. Preview every page to check that the important details are not cut off.
- On a phone, look for Print in the browser menu or share options. Availability varies by browser and device. If printing is unavailable, a private screenshot can record the result for your own reference.
- Give the saved file a clear name and date. Reopen it to check that it contains the result you intended. Do not upload it publicly or send it to an unknown person.
A mistake to avoid
Do not click an advertisement labelled “Download” just because it appears near the record. Do not call a browser-saved PDF an officially issued card. Avoid saving household information to a public computer’s shared folder.
Example
You need the details to explain a spelling error at a centre. Save the displayed result and mark the date you checked it. Keep the issued card or acknowledgement available too; the reference copy helps explain the difference but does not replace every required document.
Check the File You Saved
For a usable reference copy, inspect the first and last pages of the PDF after saving. Check that the household information is readable and that you have saved the result rather than a blank form. Ask the receiving office which document it accepts.
Frequently asked questions
Is Save as PDF the same as a government card download?
No. It saves the displayed web page unless the portal separately provides an issued document.
What if the PDF is blank?
Check that the result loaded, review the print preview, and try the portal’s own print control if available.
Should I pay an unofficial site to make the PDF?
You do not need an independent site to convert a page your own browser can save. Official document requirements must be checked with the receiving office.
